Hear what these happy VO Pep Talk students are saying!

Although I’m new to voice over, I’m not new to show biz. I’m a professional actor with a huge background in theatre. Making the transition from the theatre to the theatre of the mind, so to speak, has been fraught with enough challenges to make me question if I ever had any talent to begin with. In other words, “it ain’t as easy as it looks”.

I found Tia Marlier in Denver after studying with voice over coaches in New York, Dallas and Atlanta. All good coaches to be sure, but when I found Tia I began to make real progress from a different perspective. Tia helped me find that perspective.

Tia has a gift for finding out where you are in your journey and tailoring her approach appropriately. She knows how to communicate with me using my background as a stage actor and at the same time introduce me to the more subtle and nuanced techniques of voice over. She follows my lead sometimes when she sees me heading to a place of value, and brings me back to reality when she sees me loosing touch with honesty.

Her experience and intuition are always apparent to me when I listen back through our sessions. I see where I go and where she guides me. Where I triumph and where I fail. How she gently reminds me of something for the third time and how she frankly tells me when something isn’t working.

Which brings me to Tia’s ability to be direct, honest and compassionate. She understands the creative process, and the courage it takes to take risks. But she also knows that no one benefits from false feedback. She’ll tell you the truth. And we all know what they say about the truth.

Tia has been an amazing teacher & mentor for me. She knows the industry and what they’re looking for; she is an excellent listener, and has the uncanny ability to critique you while giving you kudos at the same time! She’s honest without being harsh, and wants the best for all of her students. Tia was my “VO Doula” when I cut my first demo, and I couldn’t have done it as well without her. She’s a gem in the industry, and someone I trust implicitly.
